Reenergising the commercial heart of MediaCityUK
Project type
Food & Beverage Asset Master Planning & Strategy Development
Location
Manchester, UK
Client Website
MediaCityUK is an iconic 200-acre urban mixed-use property development on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal in the North of England.
We were engaged to support the executive team of Peel Lifestyle Outlets and their architects, Chapman Taylor, in developing the food, beverage & leisure destination strategy for the reinvigorated shopping centre, as the commercial centrepin of this development, which was rebranded to Quayside MediaCity as part of this wider project.
Our scope of works included;
- Review and assessment of the 45,514m2 commercial space in the centre, understanding current food, beverage and leisure operators and positioning competitive landscape, occasions and potential demand.
- Working with appointed architects to masterplan the food, beverage, leisure and entertainment, including positioning, tenant mix, zoning and space planning; leveraging our unique customer and occasion modelling.
The result has been the development of two distinct food and beverage destinations, Central Bay with 11 destination restaurants, featuring a 5,000 sq. ft. terrace and Kargo Market featuring 13 kitchens, pop-up events, indie markets, live music performance and play areas for children. Opening Summer 2023.
