The brief

MediaCityUK is a 200-acre mixed-use development on the Manchester Ship Canal. Think Hospitality supported Peel Lifestyle Outlets and architects Chapman Taylor in developing the F&B and leisure destination strategy for the rebranded Quayside MediaCity.

Our approach

Work included reviewing the centre's commercial space and existing operators, then masterplanning food, beverage, leisure and entertainment alongside the architects, positioning, tenant mix, zoning and space planning, using proprietary customer and occasion modelling.

The outcome

Two distinct destinations resulted: Central Bay, with 11 destination restaurants and a 5,000 sq ft terrace, and Kargo Market, with 13 kitchens, pop-up events, indie markets, live music and play areas, plus a major play-based attraction.
